WAGO Expands Industrial Ethernet Portfolio with New Cost-Effective, Long-Reach and Power-over-Ethernet Solutions

New Ethernet switch solutions help Canadian manufacturers, building operators and system integrators simplify connectivity, reduce installation costs and support digital transformation initiatives.

WAGO has expanded its industrial networking portfolio with three new additions to its proven 852 Series Ethernet Switch family. Designed to support the growing demands of industrial automation, smart buildings and digitalization projects, the new products provide customers with greater flexibility, longer communication distances and simplified installation options.

“As Canadian industries continue to invest in modernization and digitalization initiatives, reliable and flexible networking infrastructure is becoming increasingly important,” said Juliano Matias, General Manager, WAGO Canada. “The new products are particularly suited for Canadian industries such as mining, energy, water and wastewater, food and beverage, transportation infrastructure and commercial building automation, where reliable communications over long distances and simplified installation are critical. These solutions help customers reduce installation costs, extend network reach and simplify deployment while maintaining industrial-grade reliability.”

The latest additions include:

  • 852-116 Industrial ECO 16-Port Switch
  • 852-2112 Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) 6-Port Switch
  • 852-1739 Industrial Power over Ethernet (PoE++) Splitter

As industrial facilities continue to modernize operations and expand connectivity requirements, reliable and scalable network infrastructure has become increasingly important. These new solutions help organizations connect more devices, extend communication networks and reduce installation complexity while maintaining industrial-grade reliability.

WAGO Expands Industrial Ethernet Portfolio with New Cost-Effective, Long-Reach and Power-over-Ethernet Solutions
852-116 Industrial ECO 16-Port Switch
Reduce network infrastructure costs with a reliable 16-port industrial Ethernet switch designed for applications where Gigabit speeds are not required.

Cost-Effective Industrial Ethernet Connectivity

The new 852-116 Industrial ECO Switch provides an economical 16-port Ethernet switching solution for applications that do not require Gigabit communication speeds. Operating at 10/100 Mbps, the switch offers the same industrial design and footprint as WAGO’s existing 16-port Gigabit model while delivering approximately 35% cost savings when Gigabit speeds are not required.

Featuring automatic transmission rate detection (Auto-Negotiation) and Auto MDI-X functionality, the switch supports true plug-and-play operation, reducing commissioning time and simplifying network deployment.

Ideal applications include manufacturing automation systems, process control networks, building automation systems and control panels utilizing WAGO controllers and fieldbus couplers.

Extending Ethernet Communication up to 1,000 Metres

852-2112 SPE 6-Port Switch
Extend Ethernet communications up to 1,000 metres while leveraging existing wiring infrastructure with WAGO’s Single Pair Ethernet switching technology.

One of the most innovative additions to the portfolio is the 852-2112 Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) Switch. The solution combines traditional Ethernet networking with emerging SPE technology, enabling Ethernet communication over distances up to 1,000 metres using a single twisted-pair cable.

By leveraging existing wiring infrastructure, customers can reduce material and installation costs while extending network connectivity well beyond the traditional 100-metre Ethernet limitation.

The switch features:

  • Two standard 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports
  • Four 10BASE-T1L Single Pair Ethernet ports
  • Plug-and-play commissioning
  • Support for long-distance industrial networking applications

Delivering Power and Data Through a Single Cable

WAGO Expands Industrial Ethernet Portfolio with New Cost-Effective, Long-Reach and Power-over-Ethernet Solutions
852-1739 Industrial PoE++ Splitter
Deliver power and data through a single cable to simplify installation and support remote industrial automation applications.

The 852-1739 Industrial PoE++ Splitter simplifies remote installations by providing both Ethernet communications and 24 VDC power through a single network cable.

Designed for decentralized control cabinets and remote automation equipment, the splitter extracts power from a Power over Ethernet network and delivers a stable 24 VDC output of up to 3 A while maintaining Gigabit Ethernet communications.

The solution helps reduce wiring requirements, installation time and overall project costs while enabling deployment of industrial devices in locations where traditional power sources may not be readily available.

Potential applications include building automation retrofits, elevator modernization projects, remote control panels, industrial monitoring stations and edge automation systems.
