Engineered for America | Senatobia: A Decade of Helping U.S. Industries Outrun

For 10 years, ABB’s flagship Senatobia facility has grown from 45 employees and 87,000 square feet to 1,200+ manufacturing leaders and nearly 487,000 square feet, supporting customers and partners across high-growth sectors, including data centers, manufacturing, infrastructure and electrification. Here’s how local expertise is delivering nationwide impact.

When ABB opened its doors in Senatobia, Mississippi in 2016, it started with 45 dedicated employees and one mission: to deliver world-class electrification solutions built right here in America.

Today, a decade later, that commitment has transformed into something remarkable. More than 1,200 skilled workers—speaking six languages and representing multiple backgrounds—power one of the most advanced manufacturing operations in North America. They’ve scaled an 87,000 square-foot facility into nearly 487,000 square feet of cutting-edge production, all while investing $100 million to strengthen American supply chains and meet rapidly accelerating customer demand.

Powering Progress Across America

Senatobia isn’t just a manufacturing site, it’s a critical hub supporting some of the fastest-growing industries in America. From data center expansion in Florida to strengthening industrial capacity across the Midwest, the circuit breakers, switches, and automatic transfer switch assemblies produced here support the infrastructure that powers modern American industries. Over the past decade, this site has grown to manufacture critiical electrification products like circuit breakers, switches, and transfer switch assemblies across seven segments to customers and partners across all 50 states, Canada, and Mexico.

The growth tells a powerful story. Since opening, Senatobia has continued innovating—introducing automation technology in 2021, expanding localized manufacturing capabilities, and deploying AI-enabled manufacturing in 2026. Every advancement keeps ABB closer to customers while strengthening America’s manufacturing competitiveness.

Local Expertise, Global Impact

ABB’s “local-for-local” strategy means the company isn’t just producing products in Senatobia, it’s building long-term partnerships with the community. The site has invested nearly $90 million with 150 local vendors, strengthening Mississippi’s economy while advancing American energy security. This commitment extends beyond the factory floor: ABB partners with the Tate County Economic Development Foundation and Mississippi Development Authority to develop the next generation of American manufacturing talent through STEM programs, internships, and workforce training.

Built for Sustainability and Tomorrow

In 2023, Senatobia achieved ABB’s Mission to Zero™ environmental milestone, followed by ISO 50001 certification in 2024. Energy-efficient design, including geothermal heating and solar integration, demonstrates that advanced manufacturing and environmental responsibility go together. It’s this kind of innovation that positions Senatobia as a model for what American manufacturing can be: efficient, sustainable, and built to lead.

More Than a Facility — A Future

Senatobia exemplifies ABB’s belief that America’s manufacturing future is built through innovation, efficiency, sustainability, and people working together. For the next decade and beyond, this facility will continue playing a critical role in supporting American industries, creating high-skill career opportunities, and proving that advanced manufacturing thrives when backed by investment, purpose, and people.

That’s what it means to be Engineered for America.
