LEYON-Safe-E Sensors: The Next Generation of Intelligent Door Protection

Carlo Gavazzi is excited to introduce the new LEYON-SAFE-E Sensors, the next generation of intelligent door protection. Advanced 3D LiDAR technology sets a new benchmark in industrial door safety – one device delivering full protection, outstanding performance, and effortless usability.

Main technical features of the new LEYON-SAFE-E Sensors:

  • Compliant with EN 12453 (Type E), EN 12978 and UL 325
  • Early detection in the area in front of the door for enhanced safety
  • Full contactless protection during the entire opening and closing cycle
  • Advanced LiDAR technology with precise time-of-flight measurement
  • 3D safety zone for accurate detection of people and vehicles
  • Ensures continuous protection and uninterrupted operation
  • Designed to perform in harsh environments from -30°C to +55°C (IP65)
  • Symmetrical design for easy installation
  • Automatic Teach for effortless safety zone configuration
  • Quick setup via Web App
  • No additional tools or mechanical adjustments required

In today’s high-traffic industrial environments, performance alone is no longer sufficient — intelligent protection has become essential. LEYON-Safe-E is a next-generation high-definition 3D door sensor engineered to prevent personal injury and vehicle damage by detecting any objects around industrial doors and gates.

Powered by cutting-edge LiDAR technology, LEYON-Safe-E delivers advanced contactless protection during every opening and closing cycle. Through real-time 3D imaging, infrared laser illumination, and continuous-wave time-of-flight measurement, the sensor generates a precise and dynamic map of its surroundings, reacting instantly to any potential risk.

The result is a smarter and more streamlined safety architecture that reduces system complexity while maximizing reliability and uptime.

“With LEYON-Safe-E,” says Aldo Caputo, International Product Manager, “we are introducing a new standard in door protection by combining advanced sensing technology with real-world industrial needs. This solution not only improves protection but also simplifies system integration, helping our customers achieve higher efficiency and reliability.”
