CSA Group Opens New Global Testing and Certification Center in Guangzhou, China

New facility combines two specialized laboratories to support product manufacturers with localized services
CSA Group announced the official opening of its new Global Testing and Certification Center in Guangzhou, China on January 13, 2026. Situated to meet the growing demands of manufacturers, the center combines two specialized laboratories, each providing extensive and local testing and certification services for a wide range of products.
The Guangzhou Global Testing and Certification Center integrates localized expertise with global knowledge, positioning it as a strategic hub, helping to empower manufacturers to demonstrate global compliance in one place. The center features an extensive range of advanced testing laboratories, including EMC, HVAC/R, Electrical Components, Cable & Wire, Material Testing, Household Appliance, Environmental Testing, Mechanical Testing, IT/AV, Lighting, and Functional Safety laboratories.
The new center consists of two specialized laboratories located at separate addresses in the Huangpu District:
- The Electrical & Electronics Testing and Certification Laboratory, located in Dingchuang Technology Park, spans approximately 8,400 square meters. It offers testing and certification services for safety, performance, functional safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for household and commercial appliances, HVAC/R products, lighting, wiring, and other electronic and electrical products. The laboratory also provides Global Market Access (GMA) services. The laboratory opened in October 2025.
- The Gas, Plumbing & Water Treatment Testing and Certification Laboratory, located in Science City, spans approximately 5,500 square meters. It specializes in safety and performance testing and certification for gas appliances and components, plumbing products, construction materials, water treatment systems, and safety equipment, with full GMA support. The laboratory was originally opened in 2008 and renovated in 2025.
Over 250 customers and special guests attended a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the opening of the new facility. The opening ceremony was attended by Rich Weiser, Executive Vice President, Global Operations, CSA Group; Nancy Ge, Senior Vice President of CSA Group China; Qi Lv, Deputy General Manager of CCIC; Liming Su, Chairman & Party Secretary of CCIC South China, Party Secretary & General Manager of CCIC Guangdong; Chao Chen, Secretary- General of Guangzhou Development District Administrative Committee; and Behzad Babakhani, Consul General of Canada in Guangzhou.
