  • At Light + Building 2024 (Hall 12, Booth B/E 51) from March 3 to 8, ABB will be showcasing scalable solutions for residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • An interactive, immersive smart building walk-through experience will enable visitors to explore energy efficiency, interoperability, sustainability and design, and will demonstrate the diverse possibilities of technological innovation for new and existing buildings
  • With the support of the emerging connectivity standard Matter, ABB is showing the way to the future of open systems

At the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building technology, ABB will be demonstrating how digitalization and interoperability in smart functional buildings, modern living spaces and industry are already bringing energy efficiency benefits today and how innovations will support a more sustainable future.

Saving energy is the easiest and quickest way to protect the climate. The building sector offers particularly great potential here. Comprehensive electrification and digitalization are key to implementing the energy transition and make a significant contribution to increasing efficiency and conserving resources.

With the acquisition of home automation manufacturer Eve Systems last year, ABB has opened a completely new chapter on the path to interoperability and flexibility. Eve’s technologies are based on the cross-manufacturer connection standard Matter and the network protocol Thread. ABB is thus at the forefront of integrating a new technology that can expand the world of home automation to the maximum.

For the first time, examples of how the integration of Eve devices with the ABB-free@home® system results in new functionalities and additional convenience will be shown during the event. In the center area which combines walk-through “Living”, “Working” and “Design and Architecture” spaces, stand visitors are welcome to experience improved livability and discover ideas for new buildings and renovations as tangible, functioning solutions.

Many of the technologies will be celebrating their trade fair premiere in Frankfurt. These include touch panels that can control all room functions from customizable interfaces, award-winning light switch ranges made from recycled materials, and new energy management system expansion modules for increased openess and interoperability. In addition, visitors can discover how the solutions for building automation, energy distribution and energy management set new standards in terms of saving time and space during installation and work planning.
