XTS EcoLine Motor Module: A New Addition to the Intelligent Transport System

The XTS EcoLine motor module makes intelligent product handling from Beckhoff even more economical. It offers 95% of the technical properties of the well-known motor modules at just 55% of the cost for the same distance. The motor module is also designed to be seamlessly compatible, allowing it to be used together with previous versions if required.

At 500 mm, the EcoLine motor module is twice as long as the standard straight modules, yet still fits within the same grid dimensions. The familiar reliability and robustness of XTS are guaranteed, as are the specifications for travel speed (up to 4 m/s) and acceleration (up to 10 g). The XTS EcoLine module type differs slightly with regard to the following technical properties:

  • 0.70 mm absolute accuracy and 0.075 mm repeatability
  • 70 mm minimum product distance
  • up to 45 N nominal force and 105 N peak force per mover
XTS EcoLine Motor Module: A New Addition to the Intelligent Transport System from Beckhoff
XTS EcoLine motor modules are fully compatible with all standard motor modules.

The EcoLine motor module is fully compatible with standard motor modules, making it highly versatile for a variety of applications:

  • for processes that do not require extremely low values in terms of accuracy or product distance
  • in combination with high-precision motor modules (e.g., for creating dedicated transport routes without process stations)

The EcoLine motor module is an efficient and cost-effective addition to the XTS linear intelligent transport system from Beckhoff.

Proven advantages, full compatibility, lower costs: the EcoLine motor modules from the XTS modular system provide 95% of the technical features of the familiar motor modules at half the costs for the same distance. Watch this video to find out how Beckhoff achieved this.

AT2200 | EcoLine motor module, straight, without infeed

The AT2200 motor module is an element for setting up straight XTS track sections. Simply plugging them together establishes an electrical connection between these motor modules. With one power supply, a maximum of 6 motor modules can be plugged together one after the other in a 3-meter long power supply segment. The standardized 500 mm length enables finely scalable system lengths. The EcoLine motor module is an economic alternative to standard motor modules for applications that do not require the highest level of accuracy. Learn more

AT2202 | EcoLine motor module, straight, with plug connector for infeed

The AT2202 motor module is very similar to the AT2200 motor module. In addition, it has a connector for supplying power and communication, which connection cables in variable lengths can be connected to. Compared to fixed connection cables, the connection cables are drag-chain suitable and longer cable lengths are possible. With a length of 500 mm, the motor modules with infeed represent an economical alternative to standard motor modules in applications that do not require the highest level of accuracy.

By attaching motor modules without infeed, straight and curved track layouts, the infeed line can be extended up to 3 m. An entire XTS system consists of at least one infeed line. Several infeed lines of different lengths can be used in one XTS system. The length of an infeed line is primarily determined by the mechanical motion profile of the movers and thus the electrical power consumption and the number of movers on the respective track.
