Electromate Introduces New Kollmorgen Essentials™ Controller and  High-Voltage Drive Capability for Cost-Effective Motion Control

Expanded Kollmorgen Essentials portfolio delivers greater scalability, simplified integration, and higher power capability for industrial machine builders.

Electromate Inc., Canada’s leading distributor of motion control, robotics, and mechatronic solutions, is pleased to announce the availability of the latest additions to the Kollmorgen Essentials™ portfolio: the new PCMM2G Essentials controller and high-voltage drive capability supporting applications up to 4 kW.

The expanded Essentials portfolio gives machine builders additional flexibility to configure complete motion systems that balance performance, scalability, and cost while simplifying system design, commissioning, and long-term support.

The new PCMM2G Essentials controller supports up to eight axes and delivers the proven performance and integration capabilities of the PCMM2G platform in a solution optimized for lower-axis-count applications such as indexing, positioning, and general machine automation. By providing an economical control option for less complex systems, OEMs can better align motion system capabilities with application requirements.

As part of the fully integrated Kollmorgen Essentials ecosystem, the controller seamlessly integrates with Kollmorgen servo drives, motors, and the Kollmorgen Automation Suite™ software platform. This single-supplier approach helps reduce engineering effort, accelerate commissioning, and lower total cost of ownership through lifetime software updates and no incremental licensing fees.

Kollmorgen has also expanded the Essentials portfolio with a new high-voltage drive capability that supports 240-480 VAC three-phase power and a system output up to 4 kW. This enhancement extends the reach of Essentials into higher-power industrial applications while maintaining the simplicity and affordability that have made the platform attractive to machine builders.

The high-voltage capability is particularly well suited for applications such as:

  • Automotive manufacturing equipment
  • Material handling systems
  • Logistics and warehouse automation
  • Machine tools
  • Material processing machinery

By operating directly from standard industrial power infrastructure commonly found throughout North America and Europe, the new high-voltage drive eliminates the need for external transformers or power-conversion solutions, simplifying machine design and improving overall system efficiency.

“The expanded Kollmorgen Essentials portfolio provides OEMs with more options to right-size their motion systems while maintaining access to the performance, reliability, and ease of integration expected from Kollmorgen solutions,” said Warren Osak, President of Electromate Inc. “Machine builders can now address a broader range of applications with a single, scalable motion platform.”
