Users of the ctrlX AUTOMATION modular automation system from Bosch Rexroth will benefit from expanded options for drive control and diagnostics in the future: The Bruchsal-based drive and automation specialist SEW-EURODRIVE is joining the ctrlX World partner network, adding frequency inverters and gearmotors to the existing range of hardware, software, and apps for complete automation solutions.

SEW-EURODRIVE becomes part of Bosch Rexroth’s partner ecosystem ctrlX World

Additional drives from SEW-EURODRIVE and an app for the ctrlX OS Store will follow, allowing drives to be conveniently controlled via a modern front end in accordance with the CiA standard (CAN in Automation), specifically the CiA 402 profile. This gives users expanded options for controlling and diagnosing drives. Multiple drives from SEW-EURODRIVE can be addressed centrally via hardware running the Linux operating system ctrlX OS from Bosch Rexroth, making handling easier and increasing efficiency.

“These enhancements set a new standard for digital transformation and integrated drive control solutions and enable drive manufacturers to collaborate in order to offer customers a wider range of choices”, explains Tobias Nittel, Head of Corporate Solution Center – Electronics at SEW-EURODRIVE. Steffen Winkler, Sales Manager of the Automation & Electrification Solutions business unit at Bosch Rexroth, adds: “With SEW-EURODRIVE, we welcome an established drive and automation technology company to our ctrlX World partner ecosystem. Customers benefit from the growing variety of solutions, from which they can select the optimal components and function modules for their specific application, regardless of manufacturer.”
