Single-Phase Compressor Soft Starters – Certified for A2L Refrigerant Applications from Carlo Gavazzi

Carlo Gavazzi is excited to introduce the latest evolution of their RSBS Series of Soft Starters, which now includes certifications for use with flammable refrigerants. For over fifteen years, the RSBS Series has been a preferred choice for OEMs and system integrators worldwide, delivering reliable and efficient starting of single-phase compressors up to 32A. Its compact design, ease of integration, and built-in protection functions have made it a benchmark solution for control panels.

Today, the RSBS is designed for use in systems compliant with UL 60335-2-40 and 60335-2-89, enabling access to regulated markets and supporting new applications driven by the increasing adoption of A2L refrigerants.

Main Technical Features:

  • Compliant with UL 60335-2-40 and UL60335-2-89
  • Designed for A2L refrigerant applications
  • Self-extinguishing enclosure materials for enhanced fire safety
  • Proven performance with no changes to footprint or installations
  • Simplified integration requires no redesign or requalification
  • Reliable and compact solution for single-phase compressors up to 32 Amps

As HVAC systems evolve and safety requirements become more stringent, the demand for compliant and future-ready components is rapidly increasing. The RSBS Soft Starters address this need by combining proven performance with enhanced safety compliance, allowing customers to expand their application range without added complexity. No redesign and no additional engineering effort are required – just immediate access to new opportunities and compliance with evolving regulations.

They are available from Carlo Gavazzi’s network of sales offices or distributors in the Americas.
