Professional associations, licensing and regulating bodies, or certification bodies often require their members to complete professional development credits (e.g., CPDs, CEUs, CPHs, etc.) to maintain the status of their qualifications.

Participation in activities with CSA Group’s Standards organization — such as contributing to a technical committee or successfully completing an educational program or course — may qualify you to earn credits to maintain your professional qualifications. Many professional organizations recognize these activities as professional development and count them towards professional credits depending on the circumstances. There are a range of activities that can qualify, including:

  • Participation in technical discussions (e.g., committee meetings)
  • Reading CSA standards, research, policy reports and other relevant publications
  • Conference attendance
  • Serving on research advisory panels
  • Completing educational training

The CSA Group recommend tracking your involvement in CSA Group activities and confirming eligibility with the relevant professional association or college.
