B&R’s 81MP stepper motor portfolio is designed as a perfect match for ACOPOS X2.

Stepper motors are commonly used for simple positioning and motion control tasks such as adjustment or positioning axes. In practice, however, variant diversity, different protection classes, and inconsistent connector concepts can make engineering and commissioning more complex than necessary. The new B&R 81MP stepper motor portfolio addresses these challenges with a clear goal: reducing complexity and simplifying stepper applications.

Designed for ACOPOS X2

The 81MP stepper motors are designed as system components for industrial automation, not as standalone products. In combination with ACOPOS X2, B&R’s solution for low voltage motion control, the new stepper motors operate as a closed loop solution that improves efficiency and reliability while keeping commissioning and operation straightforward. ACOPOS X2 supports one or two axes in a compact footprint, offers embedded encoder interfaces and integrated Safe Torque Off (STO). This makes it particularly suitable for compact machine designs and simpler positioning applications such as adjustment axes in packaging and labeling machines, handling systems, or auxiliary motion functions where space efficiency, safety, and ease of use are key.

A streamlined portfolio for compact low‑voltage motion

To fully support this system oriented approach, the 81MP stepper motor portfolio itself is clearly structured for low voltage motion applications. It is available in two sizes (NEMA 24 and NEMA 34) and two lengths per size, covering different current requirements while keeping motor selection straightforward. This reduced structure supports faster specification and simplifies procurement. All variants follow a consistent design approach. The entire portfolio offers IP65 protection and uses standardized M12 connectors for power and feedback. This simplifies integration, supports robust machine designs, and reduces wiring effort. To match different application needs, the 81MP motors are available either without an encoder or with an incremental encoder. This allows machine builders to add feedback where higher positioning accuracy or monitoring is required, without increasing complexity in simpler applications.
