ABB Acquires Assets of Métal BF to Support Growing Demand in Metal Products Manufacturing

ABB has finalized the acquisition of manufacturing assets from Métal BF, an Innovair Solutions company. Métal BF is a Canadian manufacturer specializing in high-quality custom metal products, located in Terrebonne, Quebec.  

The acquisition includes the facility, equipment, inventory along with transferring the 27 skilled employees who will now report into the stamping and sheet metal operations (GFI) of the Installations Product division of ABB located in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.  Financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

What this acquisition means for ABB:

  • Strong demand growth: Expands ABB’s manufacturing capacity to respond to strong market demand for high-quality custom metal fabrication driven by the data centre sector and other industries.  
  • Local commitment: Reinforces ABB’s local for local strategy, strengthening their ability to deliver reliable, locally-made products to customers across the country. 
  • Operational advantage: Métal BF’s facility is just 50 kilometers from ABB’s existing GFI plant, enabling seamless integration and stronger efficiency across their Quebec manufacturing network
