New Endress+Hauser Control Unit Adds Multi-Technology Measuring Flexibility for Optimum Efficiency Plus Future-Proofing
Endress+Hauser’s new FlexView FMA90 monitoring control unit for water/wastewater applications supports the three leading measuring technologies – ultrasonic, hydrosonic and radar. It can connect two 4-20 mA level sensors simultaneously to display readings from two measuring points.

FlexView FMA90 pairs perfectly with next generation level sensors like compact Micropilot lineup in water/wastewater operations

Endress+Hauser’s new FlexView FMA90 monitoring control unit supports the three leading measuring technologies –ultrasonic, hydrosonic and radar – to provide large water/wastewater facilities with maximum flexibility and future-proofing. Among its key features is its ability to connect two 4-20 mA level sensors simultaneously to display readings from two measuring points.

The FMA90 excels at enhancing key operational functions—including rake control, flow pulse, and monitoring of open channel flow and level during rain overflow events. In a typical wastewater setup, the FMA90 works in tandem with Endress+Hauser’s new compact Micropilot FMR20B radar level sensor to optimize rake control. By measuring buildup, the FMR20B reliably detects clogging early enough for the FMA90 to active a cleaning mechanism. The Micropilot‘s strong, focused beam angle ensures dependable measurement even when foam is present.

Right out of the box, the FMA90 stands out for its fast installation and simple setup. It features a 3.5inch color touchscreen that supports glove operation, along with guided setup using tutorials and wizards. Endress+Hauser sensors – including the new Micropilot family (FMR20B, FMR30B), the hydrostatic Waterpilot FMX21 level transmitter, and the existing ultrasonic FMU30 level sensor – are automatically detected. A successor to the ultrasonic devices is planned for release later this year.

This system can be accessed remotely using a mobile device or desktop computer thanks to the FMA90’s built in Wi-Fi connectivity, providing real-time insight as well as visibility to sensors located in difficult-to-access locations. All this is backed by the unit’s enhanced, high-level cybersecurity.

The FMA90 has three housing options: field, DIN and panel mount. The unit supplies the sensors via an integrated, intrinsically safe power feed, which reduces installation effort in hazardous areas, as no additional protective measures such as barriers are required.

The FMA90 has been developed to key industry standards for challenging environments, and its integrated flow totalizers provide a reliable data foundation for billing and legal reporting, or managing data analysis for specific time periods.
