Cognex Introduces AlignSight Alignment Sensor Series

December 11, 2020

In early June of 2020, Cognex Corporation introduced the AlignSight Alignment Sensor Series as an affordable self-contained solution for vision-guided motion. AlignSight is designed for fast and easy set-up of robot pick and place, machine tending, and stage motion alignment applications in the consumer electronics and electronics hardware industries.

“The electronics industry is increasingly turning to robotics and vision automation to realize the benefits of flexible manufacturing,” said Herb Lade, Vice President of Global Solutions and Services at Cognex. “AlignSight simplifies the application of vision for motion control.  Now users can integrate Cognex’s powerful vision technology quickly within their motion system, ensuring the speed and accuracy of their automated alignment applications without programming.”

AlignSight features industry leading PatMax technology, automatic hand-eye calibration, an easy-to-use graphical setup wizard, and a flexible robot interface library. Built on the Cognex In-Sight smart camera platform, AlignSight delivers high performance without the need for an external controller to run the application. The solution can be configured and calibrated in minutes enabling quick location and alignment of patterns and fiducials, even under adverse conditions or high level of degradation.
