Electromate Announces Availability of the New Universal Robots UR8 Long Collaborative Robot

Electromate, an authorized distributor of Universal Robots in Canada, announces the availability of the new UR8 Long, engineered for welding, material handling, and other applications requiring extended reach and high-precision performance.

The UR8 Long combines a 1750 mm reach with an 8 kg payload, enabling the handling of larger or more complex workpieces. Its enhanced motion capabilities provide precise repeatability at slow speeds, making it particularly effective in welding tasks where accuracy and consistency are critical.

Key specifications include:

  • Payload capacity: 8 kg for heavier parts and palletizing
  • Reach: 1750 mm for extended application coverage
  • Weight: 41 kg for mobility between work cells and AMR compatibility
  • Footprint: 204 mm diameter base for integration in space-constrained environments
  • Ingress protection: IP65 for dust-tight operation and water jet resistance
  • Cleanroom certification: Class 4 for electronics and microchip production
  • Certifications: UL1740, ISO10108, TÜV, KCC, and KCCS approvals for global deployment

Targeted industries include:

  • Metal & Machining – Welding, material handling, machine tending
  • Automotive – Material handling, painting, sanding, inspection
  • Electronics & Technology – Material handling and cleanroom applications

Electromate provides Canadian manufacturers with access to the latest Universal Robots technology while supporting projects across markets outside the United States.

With the addition of the UR8 Long, customers gain a collaborative robot designed to increase efficiency, ensure consistent quality, and integrate seamlessly into existing production lines.
