Social Distancing Control Appliques Developed for Industrial Floors

HellermannTyton introduces two social distancing identification products for industrial environments. Designed for floor applications, one product is a round marker and the other is a two-inch wide continuous strip on a roll.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to exacerbate staff shortages, factories, warehouses and other high-capacity industrial spaces must have best practices in place to ensure safe distancing.

These new social distance indicators feature an extreme duty, abrasion-resistant surface designed to resist rugged shoe soles and frequent wheel traffic from hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts. Few adhesive social distancing markers meet the UL 410 Certification for Slip Resistance of Floor Surface Materials. HellermannTyton’s markers meet the specification, as well as offer additional benefits.

Three sizes accommodate standard cable ties between 0.14 and 0.35 inch (3.6 and 8.9mm) wide. A fourth mount accepts HellermannTyton’s Wide Strap Cable Tie, which is 0.5 inch (12.7mm) wide.

These products are removable and repositionable for 90 to 180 days,” said Todd Fries, HellermannTyton’s product category manager – identification. “This will be welcome news for anyone who has tried to peel off a floor marker and ended up tearing it or leaving residual paper behind when removed.

HellermannTyton intentionally left off the “6-foot” distancing indication. In the event the CDC or local government modifies rules or best practices, customers don’t have to worry about owning an inventory of non-conforming markers.

HellermannTyton has an industry reputation for engineered adhesive products that deliver extended-life performance in extreme environments such as outdoor solar installations.
