AutomationDirect has added a new high-performance AC drive series that supports four different control modes, including closed-loop flux vector and torque control.

The WEG CFW500 AC drives are available in a range of voltage and horsepower ratings and can control 230VAC 3-phase motors from 1/4 to 30 hp when powered with 230VAC 3-phase and 1/4 to 3 hp when powered with 230VAC single-phase.

The 460VAC models support motor sizes from 1/3 to 60 hp. These drives include ample built-in I/O that is expandable with option modules; they support Modbus RTU and Ethernet communications modules that allow the drive to be controlled and monitored via Modbus TCP or EtherNet/IP.

The CFW500 series has a built-in PLC and uses free software for drive configuration and programming. Also, IP66-rated CFW500 drives are offered with many standard features of the CFW500 series but in an IP66/NEMA 4X enclosure rated for washdown environments and indoor or outdoor installations. The IP66-rated models are available in ratings up to 20 hp.

The new CFW500 high-performance AC drives start at $205.00 and have a 1-year warranty.
