Nord Drivesystems: Modular ATEX drives – Protection against gas and dust

July 25, 2019

Since 2003 NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has supplied standard-compliant ATEX drive solutions such as dust or gas explosion protected motors , gear units, and electronic drive technology for zones 1, 2, 21 or 22. On the basis of the specific requirements for the application, the drive specialist provides individual solutions with versions and equipment from a modular system.

The precisely configured drive systems according to EU Directive 2014/34/EU as well as IEC EX feature ultimate flexibility. As an option, motors can be designed for inverter operation. There is a mounting option with IEC or NEMA frame motors, and direct mounting of the motor on the gear unit is also possible. Depending on the Ex zone, various options such as external fans, backstops or brakes can be integrated. NORD supplies systems for ambient temperatures of up to +60 °C as well as combined dust/gas explosion protection if required. All explosion protected drive solutions are available throughout the world with documentation in more than 20 languages.
