Compact 8-Port IO-Link Device from Banner

October 12, 2022

Banner presents a new connection solution for discrete sensors, lights, and actuators: the R95C Hub. IO-Link hubs make it possible to connect large numbers of discrete signals to a single port on an IO-Link Master. The configurable R95C hub with an IO-link interface features a durable IP67/IP68-rated housing and eight separate input ports with two discrete channels each (both PNP and NPN).

This makes it an economic solution for capturing traditional digital sensor signals from larger factory operations and routing them all to a central controller. Users also have the ability to drive an output (PNP or NPN) from each of the eight ports. This compact and robust solution significantly reduces cabling complexity, as it requires only one standard M12 connection to an IO-Link Master for signal transmission and power supply.

Weidmüller’s u-control 2000: The Automation Controller

Weidmüller’s scalable engineering software, u-control 2000, adapts individually to your requirements. And, the u-control is powerful, compact and fully compatible with Weidmüller’s I/O system u-remote. This article looks at what makes u-control the heart of your automation.

Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are one of the main components of any automated system. A typical control system has inputs, outputs, controllers (i.e., PLCs), and some type of human interaction with the system, a human machine interface (HMI), for example.
