Hammond Manufacturing Employee Spotlight: Dennis Riddell

Hammond Manufacturing celebrates Dennis Riddell – Thank you for 20 years of service! Dennis sent a wonderful message to Hammond manufacturing’s HR Team last week, and with his permission, they are passing it on. Dennis shared his thoughts on working at Hammond – his words below:

“Today marks 20 years since I started working at Hammond Manufacturing Co. Ltd., and I honestly can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Standing here, I’m filled with gratitude, pride, and a deep sense of connection—not just to the work we do, but to the people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside.

To all my past and present coworkers and mentors over the years: thank you for your support, your patience, your humor, and your hard work. Every one of you has made this place feel like a second home.

Hammond has always been more than just a workplace for me—it’s part of my family’s story. My father worked here for 27 years before he passed away, and two of my uncles have retired from Hammonds. My brother worked at the warehouse with my dad as a summer student, and I had the pleasure of working with my daughter at Edinburgh Rd while she was a summer student at university. That legacy means a lot to me, and it’s been an honor to carry it forward.

Another huge part of my Hammond experience has been our Social Committee. I’ve been proud to be involved with the social committee for over ten years now, helping to organize Adult Christmas parties, Kids Christmas parties, golf tournaments, and things like giving back to the community, whether it be through food bank donations or our Adopt A Family program at Christmas time. It’s been so rewarding to see people come together outside of work—to laugh, celebrate, and make a difference. I truly believe that kind of spirit is what sets this place apart.

I’ve learned so much over the past two decades—about manufacturing, running our paintline, teamwork, and what it means to show up every day and give your best. But more than anything, I’ve learned that the people beside you are what really matter.

So again, thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the everyday moments that have made this journey special. I’m proud to be part of the Hammond family and grateful for every step of the last 20 years. Thanks to Rob and the rest of the Hammond family for all you have done for us.”
