VFD Maintenance Tips: Restarting Your Electrical Equipment after a Long Shutdown
August 3, 2023 Integrating autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) into your facility can optimize materials transport thanks to the robots’ ability to navigate autonomously, adapt to changing environments, and perform a range of tasks. However, successful AMR implementation requires careful consideration of several key factors: space analysis, floor conditions, and environmental factors, among others. By evaluating…
As the mining business adapts to changing technological trends in the market, Epiroc’s Canadian operations have introduced Regional Application Center (RAC) teams to assist in this new digital transformation.
April 15 2025 What Are SCARA Robots? SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robots feature a unique design with rigid vertical movement and compliant horizontal movement. This configuration resembles a human arm with shoulders and elbows that move horizontally while the wrist moves vertically. SCARA robots typically offer: Key Advantages in Manufacturing Speed and Throughput SCARA robots…
At Omron, they are always working to expand the limits of what is possible with sensors. Presence detection – whether through proximity, photoelectric, or fiber optic sensor technology – is crucial for all manufacturing industries, and Omron’s goal is to be able to cover the unique requirements of any application. Although there are many ways to make progress in sensing technology, they place a premium on three key areas of innovation: smarter sensors, longer sensing distances, and robust, IP-rated technology. In this article, Omron looks at each in turn.
As the world’s leading steel producer, steel giant ArcelorMittal focuses on the very latest production technologies. The aim is to make its own production processes permanently safer and more efficient. That includes burner monitoring of the furnaces in its cold rolling mill: the plant in Ghent is used to refine steel coils (strip steel rolls) in accordance with customers’ requirements. However, to enable the steel strip to be cold-formed, it must first be heat treated. So 50 main burners, fed by 30 start-up burners, heat the annealing furnaces to a constant 1200°C. Significant downtimes and exhausting troubleshooting were the rule when the burners failed. After the retrofit, the automation system PSS 4000 now guarantees smooth and productive operation, due also to accelerated fault diagnostics, among other things
April 2, 2025 Automation system PSS 4000 acts as the centralized safety component to ensure smooth mail logistics at Austrian Post. Conversion on the go In Austrian Post’s largest mail logistics centre, an approximately eight-kilometre-long, fully automated conveyor line was to be equipped with modern control technology. The goal and also the challenge: significantly increased…

Weidmüller’s scalable engineering software, u-control 2000, adapts individually to your requirements. And, the u-control is powerful, compact and fully compatible with Weidmüller’s I/O system u-remote. This article looks at what makes u-control the heart of your automation.
Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are one of the main components of any automated system. A typical control system has inputs, outputs, controllers (i.e., PLCs), and some type of human interaction with the system, a human machine interface (HMI), for example.
February 3, 2026 Choosing the right wire marker or cable label Cable and wire labeling is critical in the identification, assembly, and repair of electrical control panels, wire harnesses, and data/telecommunications systems. It is an upfront cost that saves time and labor expenses when changes or repairs need to occur to the systems you work Read More…
February 3, 2026 Understanding NEMA Ratings for Electrical Enclosures NEMA Ratings are an essential classification system used across North America to define the environmental and mechanical protection provided by electrical enclosures. Developed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), these ratings help engineers, installers, and specifiers identify the appropriate enclosure type for industrial, commercial, and outdoor Read More…
